Carmel, Ill., copied from a letter of April 1, 1845, to his daughter, Mrs. Martha Howard Constable. Relates particularly to her maternal grandfather, Capt. James Bradford, who served with the artillery under Gen. Arthur St. Clair during his 1791 campaign in Ohio.
